Thermal Breaks

for perfect thermal separation

Our GARGIULO insulating bars significantly reduce the heat transfer coefficient (U-value) to achieve higher insulation values in aluminium composite systems by reducing heat transfer and simultaneously increasing thermal efficiency throughout the year. The improved energy balance results in significant savings in heating and cooling costs.

With our high-end extrusion technologies developed in-house, we guarantee all geometries and cross-sections with the tightest tolerances.

Break
the Limits.

Thermal separations for the most demanding requirements

Both the insulation depth and the heat transfer coefficient determine the amount of savings: the larger the insulation bars and the smaller the heat transfer coefficient, the more energy and costs can be saved.

Our insulation bars made of recycled PA or ABS and in various geometries are compatible with your window system and, when used in combination, ensure the best U-values.

Supplemented with our insulation foams, this results in intelligent material combinations for even greater efficiency. We deliver according to customer requirements – with or without finishing.

Benefits and Characteristics
at a Glance

improved insulation values

Thermal breaks prevent energy and heat losses in buildings very efficiently and enable excellent Uf-values up to passive house level. Reduced energy consumption, heating cost savings and protection of the environment through:

  • Excellent U-values of the frames or composites
  • Compliance with the statutory energy-saving requirements
  • Lower energy consumption and CO₂ emissions
  • Savings on heating and cooling costs for builders and planners
  • Improved indoor climate and optimal temperature distribution
  • Fewer draughts and no coldness near windows
  • Prevention of condensation and mould formation

Tailor-Made
Products

the right thermal break for every system

Areas of Application

System manufacturers, metalworkers and window manufacturers benefit from good processability and tailor-made solutions, which we develop and produce precisely according to customer specifications.

Our thermal breaks made of PA or ABS are available in different installation depths and numerous geometries. Depending on the window type and climatic conditions, all requirements for a window system can be optimally fulfilled.

They are suitable for single- or multi-part window elements and all types of openings as well as for all common sliding windows, sliding doors and also for curtain walls.

For even faster and easier installation, we offer application-specific prefabricated composite strips that are delivered ready for installation.

Combinations

thermal break meets foam

we create combinations – our customers benefit

the combination of our foams with our thermal breaks produces intelligent material combinations that result in even better insulation values – and therefore higher cost savings for the end user.

through intensive research and development, we have identified the best material combinations:

our pa thermal breaks are ideally combined with our ht-foam, while our abs-composite strips are combined with pe-foam. this guarantees the best results.

which systems are compatible?

there are no restrictions with regard to compatibility. our foams are ideally suited for ALL window and façade systems due to their maximum flexibility in manufacturing processes and production according to individual customer requirements.

Finishing

for extra added value

At the customer's request, we offer the following finishing or assembly options for our thermal breaks:

  • Use of our specially produced co-extruded adhesive strip
  • Laser marking - signature
  • Dust blasting – for better paint adhesion
  • Film coating (for protection before applying paint)
  • Cut-outs
  • Combination with insulation foam

Use of our own specially produced co-extruded adhesive strip.

Securely
Packaged

...and adapted to individual needs

In order to respond to the respective storage conditions of our customers and to make the handling of the incoming goods as easy as possible, our thermal breaks are packaged according to the customer's specifications.

We can also supply our thermal breaks with transport protection on request: So-called protection hoods are placed over the front of the profiles, which we take back for reuse after delivery; as well as our extra long steel pallets, of course.

specific to customers:

  • Wrapped in stretch film for removal in bundles.
  • Extra long steel pallets in a standard length of 6.5 m, specifically designed for polyamide thermal breaks.
  • Extra long steel pallets can be stacked for space-saving storage at the customer's premises.
  • In bundles on wooden pallets.

optimal storage and transport conditions

to maintain excellent material characteristics
Our thermal breaks should be transported and stored in dry conditions protected from the weather. A constant ambient temperature ranging from 15 to 20 °C throughout the year prevents excessive moisture absorption. Horizontal storage is ideal to prevent bending or twisting of the material. Long lengths should be supported.
